Blemish Balm BB cream

Hey all
Recently there is this bb cream craze all over asia, and I got sucked into it as well. so far I tried 4 of them and can't wait to try others. I saw kimoko's blog and she got like more than 30+ of bb creams. hehe the bb cream Queen.
From left to right: #1 Missha M Vita bb cream, #2 Skin79 Derma RX bb cream, #3 Skinfood Aloe Sun SPF20 bb cream(shade 2), #4 Skinfood Green Gingko (shade 1). I think i will review these four products and hope my review can help you choose which one you want to buy or would suit your skin.

My skin:
Sensitive, combination/oily, easily blocked pores and some pimples and scars.

Missha M Vita bb cream Spf 20 (8/10)
Its consistency is like tinted moisturizer, not as thick as liquid foundation. pretty easy to blend. and if you use more than one layer of it on your face, you won't look cakey or flakey unless you have REALLY dry skin and got too much dead skin. but you can see from the photo that the colour is greyish pinkish. so if you are really white and pale and with a hint of yellow i think you should avoid this one. When i use it, after about 15-20 min it settles down and blends really well with my skin so looks all natural. It's coverage is light to medium, can cover some light scars. It's oil control ability is nothing to talk about, gets oily after 3-4 hours and need to blot every now and then unless you use blotting powder or silk powder from EDM then you will be fine. Does give a dewy healthy look but no glowing effect. It's surpose to be good for dry skin, so if you have combination/normal skin I recommend you try this one as well. I religeously used it for a week and a bit, it does improve my skin condition, and the pimple scars and redness are fading quickly. and didn't cause any break outs so i'm happy. It did what it promised.
Skin79 Derma RX bb cream Spf 15 (7.5/10)
Its consistency is thick, definately thicker than Missha M vita. similar to a liquid foundation so it takes a bit more time to blend and apply to face. And this one you can see in the picture it's darker and got more of a grey tone to it. when I applied it, it did look greyish but it's coverage is medium better than Missha M Vita. but if you apply more than one layer or more than you actually need, it tends to look cakey and unatural. It's oil control ability is better than Missha though does get oily at the end of the day. I use it for a week also, to be honest it didn't really do any thing for me. It surpose to whiten and help with the blemishes. It did whiten a little bit may be, but i will had a few pimples, may be it was too thick and clogged up my pores. not too sure. but i want to try other bb creams form skin79.
Skinfood Aloe Sun Spf 20 bb cream (6.5/10)
I heard alot of good review for this bb cream so i decided to try it. Its consistency is similar to Missha may be a little bit thicker but definately not as thick as skin79 derma RX. It's really easy to blend and apply but. I got this one in shade 2, it's a tad too pink for me, some girl said if you mix shade 1 and 2 you can get a natural tone. It has a light-medium coverage, but it does look pinky on me. it's oil control ability is better than both skin79 and missha so there goes a tick. But some how i think it's breaking me out a bit. getting blocked pores and little little bumps.. um... >_<>
Skinfood Green Gingko bb cream (7.5/10)
This bb cream is a bit different to the aloe one, this one gives a more dewy healthy look. but some oily skin people might find it a bit too oily. It doesn't have spf therefore a sunscreen is needed when you go out from the house. Its consistency is about the same as the aloe one, but i got this one in shade 1, from the photo it's a bit more lighter and yellower which sort of blends into my skin better than the aloe one. Though, it's coverage is pretty light, doesn't cover up most of my scars or pimples. this bb cream hydrates the skin like the Missha M vita, but do need to blot quite often. I use silk dust from EDM over the application so i'm fine with that. can't really tell the long term effects yet. but so far no breaks outs and little bumps. so all good
I'm waiting to try Missha M Perfect Cover spf 42+++ bb cream. heard a lot good review about it.

Everyday Minerals Brush

Hey
I love everyday minerals (EDM), so i got some of their brushes which i would like to give a review on.

From left to right:

foundation brush, eye shadow brush, concealer brush, flat head buffing brush, long handle kabuki brush.

Foundation Brush

I use that to apply my primer. I usually use EDM silk dust or finishing dust. Though i like finishing dust better because it helps to control oil during the day and your foundation would last longer. That brush is not from EDM, but it's very soft never scratches and applys a decent amount of powder

Eye Shadow Brush

I normally use baby bath all over the lid for every day look because it's not too over the top and helps to brighten my eyes. i love oasis too, but the glitter is a bit too shimmery for day time look. the eye shadow brush is so good, it has its multipurposes. you can use it to patt on the EDM eye shadows, sweep it on, dabb it on, and very good for blending also. the bristles are not too hard not too soft just the right amount for the multi purposes.

Concealer Brush

I use the concealer brush to apply my EDM concealers around my nose and under the eyes. I normally use mint concealer around my nose and on my blemishes and then neutralise it with my multi-tasking concealer to make it look more like my skin colour. The brush is ok wise, not as good as other concealer brush i have used. but it still does its job.

Flat Head Buffing Brush

This brush is ultra soft. Doesn't scratch at all. It is used generally for a heavier coverage. But don't put too much mineral make up on the lid because this brush picks up every thing and may give a cakey look. if you have dry spots, it's definately not the way to go. but this brush helps to do ur mineral makeup in large areas so if your in a hurry then it gets the job done fast.

Long Handled Kabuki Brush

This brush is similar to the flat head buffing brush, same softness and doesn't scratch at all. The only difference is that this brush is round and doesn't pick up as much of the powder in just one spot and allows a natural look for skin. ( may be that's just me) alot of people like this one in particular.

If you are not sure which one to get you can try makeupalley and under the brand everyday minerals they have the review for the two brushes. Which is really helpful.

Shiseido Products

Hey

It's been a while since i have blogged here, been busy with my thesis and uni work and things.
Any ways, I got some Shiseido Products here which I am going to review on. So I hope it helps.

Shiseido Extra Smooth Sun Protection Lotion
SPF 30+ For Face/Body (40 min water resistance)

I have been looking for a good sunscreen for my combination/oily face for a while, I tried alot other products until I came across this one. The SA at the counter suggested me this and said that zinc oxide is good for skin, I was skeptical because when i first tried it on my hand it was very runny and oily. As i was talking to her, it absorbed into my skin and had a matt finish. So i thought i give it a go.

Up on application on face, A little goes long way. at first it seems oily, but as you give it a few minutes to sink in to the skin it finishes matt and dewy. Sort of hydrated and feels great. I have been using it for a months and my face seems to turn brighter and no break outs.

Pros:
- good consistency
- not too oily for comb/oily skin
- no break outs
- no white caste
- no strong fragrance
- high % of zinc oxide and titanium oxide

Cons:
- the flip top lid
- tends to leak a bit

Shiseido The Skin Care - Purifying Mask

I'm comparing this mask to the proactive purifying mask. The shiseido purifying mask comes in white colour and the consistency is quite thick like a tooth paste. A thin layer applied on face will do. It dries pretty quick as well, but it does have this fragrance with it but it's not particularly strong and goes away after a while. It contains mineral clay - kaolin which cleans out the pores and absorbs excessive oil. So if you ever feel like a deep clean with your face then purifying mask is the way to go. I have been using it for half a year and nearly half of the bottle is gone, and no allergic reactions so far. Once its dried, to wash it off i use some water and patt on my face and it comes off easily.

Pros:

- good consistency

- easily washed off

- tightens and cleans out the pores

- no allergic reaction

- does not dry out skin

The proactiv purifying mask is good as well, but instead of white it's creamy yellow like cheese cake. The consistency is not as thick as the shiseido one but it smells kinda weird. It uses kaolin and sulfur as the main ingredient as they said that sulfur is volcanic ash which helps to clean the pores too. Once i was stressing out and had heaps of break outs. i used the proactiv purifying mask every 2nd day of the week and my skin cleared up real quick. But it might be too drying for some people.

Pros:
- helps clear up break outs fast
- absorbs excessive oil on face
- helps refine the skin
Cons:
- weird smell
- a bit grainy
- might be too drying for some people
- a bit hard to wash off
