[] Top 10 Brushes ~~[]

 Hey all ~~~
Just wanted to update you with some brushes that I use all the time, may be not all at once but alternating for different occasions. Some are for foundations, some are for cheek products, and others are for eye makeup.

Here's a photo of some face brushes.

Left to Right:
- Everyday Minerals Kabuki Brush
I had this brush ever since when Everyday Minerals first came out, many years back. I use it to buff in mineral foundations (EDM, Bare minerals or laura mercier). It is great, it has a short handle so it fits in a make up bag without taking too much space. application wise it is great, evenly distribute product and super soft on the face.

- Everyday Minerals Stippling Duo Fiber brush
This brush I use to apply cream blush or blush that's really pigmented, or a light layer of powder to set my foundation. its super soft high quality, the handle is a bit long though.

- Everyday Minerals Plush Mineral Brush
This brush I bought it because the shape, it can be used to apply powder ( which I some times do) or blush. I find to work excellent with cream blush!!. except the handle is a bit long so hard to travel with.

- Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I LOVE this brush, if you haven't got it yet. I suggest you go out there and buy it. Its great for every thing! mineral/liquid foundation, blush, bronzer or powder you name it. its not a round brush its an oval shape, which is what I LOVE about it. because it gets to every corner and the natural contour of the face around your nose, side of the temple and things. Its super soft and just the right amount of bristle density. pure love.

- Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush
I ran out and bought this brush after the hype of beauty community, stating that it applies foundation of any sort with great ease. I would have to agree with that. But it applies powder quite heavily and gives alot more coverage due to the fact that the bristles are so dense and they are flat. so most powder would land where you initially touch the face. For none thick liquid foundation application it is wonderful. So streaks and its super quick application. time saving.~~~ plus its super soft on the skin. highly recommended.

- Ecotools blush brush
I use this everyday to apply my blush without fail. its easy to use, easy to clean. Not the SOFTEST brush out there, but soft enough for blush application. the quality is pretty good. wash it countless times and its still good.

Top to Bottom
- Kose Visee Cream Eyeliner brush
I use this to apply gel liners like mac fluidline type of eyeliner. Its super easy, stiff enough so its not flimsy. but not SCRATCHY and hurting your eyes type. It also comes with a little cap to protect the brush. It easy to clean and store. Just makes my life much easier. This came with the Visee liner I bough.

Special Edition Mac Brushes from a limited set of brushes. Forgot what collection it was.

- Mac 275SE
I use this to blend my eyeshadow, it is made from natural hair, I actually prefer synthetic brushes. But the size and shape its just perfect for that purpose.

- Mac 219SE Pencil brush
this brush is usually used for all purpose. I find it i use it to blend eyeliners out.. smudge eyeshadows on the bottom of the eye. just good to have around. thought don't reach for it as often as the 275.

- Mac  212SE
I use this to apply eyeshadow dry or wet as an eyeliner as oppose to gel liners. It can also be used to apply eyeshadow for the bottom eyelash area because its so flat. It's a stiff brush but not scratchy and not too hard. so It's gentle enough to be used that way.

Thats my top brushes that I use all the time.

Would love to hear what are your favourite brushes.

Have a great weekend. ~~~

Sigma F80 brush review. ~~~

 Hey all ~~~
I wanted to do a brush review today, saw a lot of positive reviews on the Sigma F80 brush for buffing in foundations. So I decided to give it a try because my Everyday Minerals flat top kabuki brush is quite old now. may be about 3 yrs old? but still good. ~~~~

So I bought my brush from the Sigma Website, it came in at about 1 week since the day of order. so the shipment is not bad. It came in the blue cardboard packaging with a pamphlet talking about other brushes in the collection. (see picture below)

So I wanted to compare the Sigma F80 to my Everyday Mineral Flat Top Kabuki brush.

Comparing the two, the handle of F80 is longer, I actually prefer the longer handle. the way you buff while using the brush is different to Everyday Minerals. I feel like i tend to press harder against my skin while using Everyday Minerals.

Fiber wise, both brush have synthetic fibers, super SOFT!!!. the density is quite similar, it's just that the fiber in F80 is shorter than EM flat kabuki. not much shorter though may be about 3 mm.

So this is a top picture to show the fiber density and the size of bristles. so Left is F80 right is EM flat kabuki. sorry its a bit dirty, just used it for my powder foundation.

I like both brushes, can be used for multiple things. liquid foundation, cream foundation, powders, minerals foundation. but I prefer the F80  for liquid foundation. gives a SUPER nice finish!!!. Love it, highly recommended.

Please leave question and comments and tell me what you think about Sigma Brushes, and or other brushes you would recommend me to try.

sigh Monday blue for me ~~~~

[]shiseido foundation brush 131[]

Hey all ~~
how's every thing? just wanted to share with you this awesome foundation brush. I got this on Adam Beauty website. Think they are restocking now.. but it is an awesome foundation brush.

what it looks like.
This brush is round shaped with really dense bristles. Slanted cut on the top. it feels SOOO SOFT...
It is used for buffing in foundations no matter if it's powder or liquid.

This is a size comparison. On the left is Mac 187, and right is Shiseido 131.
because of it's perfect size. it's so easy to buff around the under eye area, around the sides of the nose. edge of the lips. just convenient. only thing is, it might be a bit hard to blend thick foundations. and a bit difficult to clean as the bristles are sooo dense.

Highly recommended. !!!

[] All About Coral~~~[]

Hey All~~~~~~~~~~
How's every one's weekend?? It was beautiful weather in Sydney, and really wished it was summer so I can hit the beach, instead it's in middle of winter.. so cold......... But the trend of summer now in Northern Hem is coral....... hence the title... ^^

I just wish summer could get there faster............ I love coral colours. being an Asian, having yellow toned skin, corals suits me better than pinks. I find that it's harder to pull of a bubblegum pink lipstick or a dolly pink blush. But as for Coral colours, straight away lifts the face, and make me look brighter. I stopped buying dolly pink things........... It looks so nice swatched on hand, but when I apply it on my face.. just doesn't work how I wished it did.

Giving a few examples of pink items that are hard for me:
- Mac Angel Lipstick
- Mac Please me Lipstick
- Mac Pink swoon blush
- Nars Angelika blush
- Maybelline pink please lipstick

So that being said, I picked out a few favourite coral coloured items which is great for summer, or any time of the year when you feel a bit coraly........

I start off with Lipsticks:
- Bobbi Brown lipcolor in Salmon
- Bobbi Brown rich lipcolor in Soft Coral
- Revlon colorburst in Peach
- Barry M lip paint 147 peachy pink

This is what they look like under natural indoor lighting.
Then onto the blushes:
Bronzer in summer is always great to give you that healthy glow........ but blushes can add a bit more of a colour to your face.
- Mac MSF in Stereo Rose ( got this some time last year) so bad that it's limited edition.
- Mac cream blush in Lilicent. (going to be discontinued, there will be similar colour coming out with new formula)
- Nars Luster
There are other great coral coloured blushes out there. you don't have to go and rush out pay so much for mac's products of Nars..

So here are some swatches for you.
Top(L to R):
- Salmon lip color
- Soft Coral rich lip color
- Peach
- Barry M 147 peachy pink

Bottom (L to R):
- Mac stereo rose
- Mac lilicent
- Nars Luster

My favourite lip color have to be Soft Coral.......... just a pretty colour without being neon like the Barry M 147, peach is a similar colour but slightly pinker.. some times I apply soft coral directly to the lips and then blot with a tissue paper to give that natural lip with hint of coral..
Second favourite is Salmon....... a more nude coral but still pretty.............

My favourite coral blush probably Nars Luster, not really truely a coral but an apricot with gold shimmers. I add a bit more of a pink on top some times. so it doesn't seem so orange.

Some times Orange toned blush can look gorgeous, but I really dont know how to pull it off............

That's all for today.. Have a great week... HATE MONDAYS!!!~

ELF complexion brush review

Hey all ~~~
Recently, I was looking for a powder brush. Some times I find that kabuki brushes picks up too much powder and deposits too much product on the spot the brush first touches. and doesn't give an even coverage. So i was checking brushes out on internet, and turns out MAC 134 is a decent powder brush, but so expensive.

but alot people compare it to the ELF complexion brush. So I decided to get the ELF complexion brush instead.

Comes with a case and brush protector. so you can bring it with you, how handy.

Just wanted to do a quick comparison to my EcoTools brushes. So the Top is ecotools blush brush, the bottom is ecotools powder brush.

Comparing it to the blush brush, ELF is a bit bigger, but shorter bristles. so more sturdy. covers a larger area but still small enough to get into the curved areas of the face.
The powder brush from ecotools is bigger and longer in bristles, but it's sooo flimsy for applying powder. it makes powder fly every where, which I don't like. The ELF brush is so soft, picks up the right amount of powder to apply to half of my face, distributes product evenly. and can be used as a blush brush as well. multi purpose brush..

I clean it with shampoo and warm water, no shedding. great quality. plus its synthetic bristles, no harm to animals.. plus points for me.

Highly recommended!!!!......... every one should have one......... a fraction of a cost compared to mac, great quality...... easy to use, clean and store.. nothing i don't like about it............ thumbs up ^^

Valentine's Day Help ~~~

Hey all
First I would like to say; Hope every one have a very happy/sweet/romantic valentine's day!!!
Mac's Brunette,Blond,Redhead collect is FINALLY out in Australia. So I went out yesterday to have a look, quite disappointing the only thing I got was the MSF degrade in redhead, I was going to get the lipstick from redhead section too, called Marquise'D. Swatched that on my hand and er... It looks just like Maybelline moisture lipstick in SAND.. if not exactly like that. LOL So i didn't end up getting that.
I was running around yesterday buying valentine's day present and er booking restaurant. I'm such a last minute person. Any hows I have trouble figuring out what to wear on that day.. At first I thought i should wear a dress, but Sydney has been cold these days/ raining and couldy so miserable. ~~~
So I'm so undecisive~~~ the restaurant is a pretty semiformal-formal place... NO Idea what to wear. Until I saw a really pretty vest in the window of a shop and I was like WOW..~~~ I tried it on and bought it HAHAHA
So here's what I came up with.. ~~~
Is that too simple for valentine's day?? mostly you would imagine a girl wearing high heels, nice dress or skirt.. ~~~ but I'm a simple person. What you guys think??? you think is appropriate??
It's sad my mum took my camera so I had to use my phone.. Sorry for the crappy quality pictures..
And Here's some picture of my FOTD for today~~~ using red head's MSF. I'm sure every one's seen it by now so I dono't have to swatch and take a photo of it right??
Under natural light no flash:
( NO eye make up just glasses and my eyebrow is like weird .. any ways)
It's like a very light flush of colours, If I put on too much gets too glittery.. LOLUnder yellow light with no flash..
That's all for today will update soon =p
P.S I want Mac's new studio sculpt foundation !!! heard reviews say it's really good... I need to get my hands on that LOL.. but when is it ever going to come out in Australia???

Ecotools []Bamboo[] Blush Brush~~

Hey everyone~
we all know that bamboo is a fast growing plant which is considered as a renewable resource. So instead of cutting down trees to make brush handles, this company uses bamboo instead. Guess they must be thinking like pandas.. Any how.. I was wondering along in Priceline (a drug store type shop), I was looking for a powder brush initially, then I spoted this brush...

I was tossing between either buying a drug store brand brush or a MAC 134 I think it's 134..
a MAC brush costs like $ 90 AUD, and I was thinking that's too much to pay for a brush considering that it's eocnomic recession now it's wiser to save money..
The reason why I wanted to buy a new brush was because I think that my MAC 168 for contouring and blushing or whatever it is surpose to be used for is not good enough. Let me tell you why... MAC 168 is a small angled brush picks up quite alot of bronzer and blush powder at once. Which is good in a way, but the problem is that it tends to accumulate the powder in one area only and doesn't blend so you see this PATCH of dark bronzer in one spot and takes some effort to BLEND it evenly so you don't see this STREAK of bronzer down your cheeck. May be it's just me but I find it a bit difficult to use.
SO I picked up the Ecotools brush which looks like this.. bamboo handled, and really light in weight.

This brush is pretty dense, dome shaped brush which is fluffy and soft. Though I realise that this brush's bristles are a bit dry. I don't know if it's real animal hair or not, But I think it's synthetic. But it's soft doesn't scratch at all..

I tried it this morning while doing my make up for going to a friend's birthday party. and I was AMAZED!!!! like SERIOUSLY AMAZED..... I WAS in SHOCK!!! @___@ ok i'm exaggerating but I was surprised at the least. I used my beloved Nars Laguna bronzer and DT blush and ecotools blush bruh. I just press the brush on the powder and tap off the excess and I looked at the brush I was like er... there's alot of powder on there... kind of worried... then I sweeped the brush from temple to cheeck for contouring and OMG... it gave a soft looking contour line and blends beautifully...~~~ and then I did my blush the same way except started from the top of my cheek apples and sweeped up slightly towards my ears.
It gave the PERFECT amount of blush not over applying so you would look like a clown. NO..~~~ It gives a thin thin layer at a time, so you can build up the amount of colour you want for blush.... and the RESULT?? see for your self...
The photo taken NO flash, natural day light... ( you can see my acne scarsT___T)

It looks natural doesn't it?? gives the most natural looking of contour and blush. I tried the blush for an overall effect of bronzer and other blush I have.. It's wonderful!!!!
Highly recommend it. Instead of buying MAC you could save ur self LOADS of money!!!... It's about $12 AUD I think if I remember correctly.. But one thing, It collects dust LOL So I put it in my draw now So dust doesn't cover it. and I wash it no falling off bristle hair and weird colour coming off.. So I believe that the quality is similar if not same as MAC.
So give it a go and you will love it like I do...
